Start a CAP Release Group

Release Groups is a new CAP ministry, designed to help people who are struggling with life-controlling habits.

Debilitating, crushing, impossible to overcome – just some of the words associated with habits like smoking, drinking, shopping and even internet addiction.

But this is where CAP and the local church come in. Release Groups gives the church a practical way to help people overcome their life-controlling habits - and experience the freedom that the love of God brings!

Release Groups are run in support-group style, at a local church. It’s a safe place, where people who are being held captive by their habits or addictions can come and share, work through a course workbook, and receive one-on one coaching and ongoing support.

How CAP equips your church

The Release Groups Team will provide comprehensive training to enable your church member(s) to become Release Group Managers - and help people in your church or community break free from life-controlling habits! As with every CAP service, your church will receive all the materials needed for Release Groups, as well as long-term support for your Release Group ministry.

Most importantly, you and your church will have the chance to build friendships and further demonstrate God’s love to Release Group members, as you welcome them into your church!

I don’t know what I would have done without CAP. They have been life-changing for us.

The best thing about being on CAP is the relief from stress. “I can even go in to shops and buy some small stuff for myself now, instead of only window-shopping,”
