Building CAP Money at your church and what's required?
Setting up to run CAP Money through your church is very simple and straight forward.  There are a series of steps we follow to get you to the training day.  Our team will lead you through this process.

Investment: $250 NZD one off licence fee

For this your church receives:
  • Full training and materials in CAP Money Programme for up to 3 volunteers
  • CAP Money Course Start Up Kit*
  • Ongoing Money Coach and Church Support
  • Full access to delegate tools, coach tools and downloads on
  • CAP Money Plus referral system**

*    Starter Kit includes DVD, Money Coach Guides, 20 x Delegate Workbooks, start up promotional material
**   CAP Money Plus is self referral phone & email based debt management support service for CAP Money delegates

CAP is passionate about equipping churches to address one of the biggest issues facing society today - debt. Since launching CAP Money in March 2009, CAP has equipped over 100 churches across New Zealand to run the programme. Throughout this time, thousands of delegates have taken part and a staggering 92% have said the course has been either life transforming or a significant help!

A partnership with CAP means we give you the professional tools to reach your community. In turn, your church provides those who are interested with the welcome and support needed to learn more about the God who loves them.

The Money Coach
We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable and confident when working with a wide variety of people and happy leading an informal teaching environment. Detailed financial knowledge is not required, although volunteers need to be comfortable handling figures and have a good grasp of basic financial principles. Volunteers must have their own finances in order and be of good character and integrity. They must be people who you are happy to have as representatives of your church to the local community.

The expectations of a CAP Money Coach are laid out in the CAP Money Coach Agreement. Through becoming a CAP Money Partner, our hope is that you will be able to make a difference to the lives of people in your church and community, seeing people empowered to take control of their finances. What are the extra costs associated with CAP Money?
If your church would like more than three CAP Money Coaches, we charge $50 to train each additional Coach. After the 20 free Delegate’s Workbooks we then charge $5 for each further copy.

Is it a requirement that Money Coaches support CAP as Life Changers (regular givers)?
Life Changers, our regular supporters programme, are crucial to CAP. As an overtly evangelistic charity, we are built on donations from individuals and churches that support our Christian aims as a charity. These gifts are the foundation of our financial sustainability and more Life Changers mean that we can grow our work.
It is not a requirement that churches and individuals must support CAP if they partner with us to provide the CAP Money programme to their community; however we would ask that as individuals, and as a body, you prayerfully consider this.

How many training days must a Money Coach attend?
Each Money Coach only needs to attend one of the training days to be fully equipped to run the course.

How should we approach running CAP Money in the community?
Good advertising is crucial to running CAP Money. As well as using the posters and leaflets that CAP will provide, encourage your congregation to bring their friends or run the course for an existing community group (e.g. mums and toddlers). CAP is able to help with publicity and PR to get the word out about your course.
