Sponsored Events 2012There are so many ways that you, as an individual, can get out there and help the poor and needy in your communities. One of these ways is raising awareness and financial support for an amazing cause - Christians Against Poverty! There are a number of sponsored events going on at CAP in 2012 and it is easy for you, your youth group and your church to get involved. Sponsored Events 2012 Orewa Beach Half Marathon, 15th April 2012 This is a great event for all ages - with the options of a half marathon, 10.5k or 5k event. Our new course in 2011 was an absolute cracker seeing competitors enjoying a native bush track and passing through stunning Kensington Park before heading out and along a portion of Orewa's new cycle/walkway beside the estuary and over to Millwater Estate in Silverdale. Of course to get you there you will trek along Orewa beach. Location: Auckland Cost: $10-$20 depending on event (Subsidized by CAP) Register by: 25th March, 2012 Minimum Sponsorship Targets: 5k ($100), 10.5k ($150), Half Marathon ($250) Register now!  Tauranga Half Marathon, 15th April, 2012This is a fast, all on-road course in the Tauranga CBD and along the seaside. Location: Tauranga Cost: $30 (Subsidized by CAP) Register By: 11th April, 2012 Minimum Sponsorship Targets: 5km ($100), 10.5km ($150), Half Marathon ($250) Register Now!  Christchurch Airport Marathon, 3rd June 2012 Inspired by the 1974 Commonwealth Games Marathon, the annual Christchurch International Marathon was established in 1981 and instantly became the South Island’s major marathon event. Location: Christchurch Cost: $30 (subsidized by CAP) Register By: 11th May, 2012 Minimum Sponsorship Target: 5km ($100), 10.5km ($150), Half Marathon ($250), Marathon ($500) Register Now!  Auckland Marathon, 28th October 2012The annual Auckland Marathon is a great event to be a part of and 2012 is going to be one of its biggest years yet! Along with the beautiful scenery of the Auckland Waterfront – you also get the opportunity to run across the Harbour Bridge (if you are running the Full Marathon). Unfortunately the Half Marathon places have now sold out - however, if you already hold a Half Marathon pass and would like to run for CAP then please email the Partnership Team.
