Run the CAP Money Course

A 3-session, interactive course that helps people budget, save and spend wisely.

Over 10,000 Kiwis have learned to budget, save and prevent debt through a CAP Money course – but with 45% of Kiwi households still living week-to-week, the need for wise money management is greater than ever.  CAP Money gives people the tools they need to take control of their finances.

And, the course gives your church a simple, relevant tool to reach people in your community!

How it works

During 3 interactive sessions, delegates work through their own personal finances, and learn how to build a budget, set up the 3-account CAP Money system and live on cash. And, CAP Money Coaches encourage, help and support delegates as they set up their own money management plans.

The course can be run as often as you like and can fit in well with current church ministries. CAP Money Coaches will also be equipped to run CAP Money Youth - a one hour, practical interactive introduction to money management for 15 - 18 year olds.

“I have been blessed to see the difference this has made in some of our delegates lives, being encouraged that what we are doing as coaches is helping someone to get their lives on track financially.” – Ann Walker, CAP Money Coach

How CAP equips your church

CAP provides your church with all the training and resources you need to run your CAP Money course.

Course content

CAP provides all the material you need to run your CAP Money and CAP Money Youth courses, including a Coach’s Guide, Delegate workbooks and a DVD with videos for each session.

Access to Online Tools

Each delegate receives access to interactive budget tools, and your CAP Money Coach will receive any other course administration tools you might need.

Ongoing help, support and advice

Your CAP Money Coach will be supported by the CAP Money team, as well as have the opportunity to connect with other CAP Money Coaches from around New Zealand as you run your course.

What your church provides

Because CAP takes care of all the training and ongoing resources you might need, all you’ll need to provide is a:

CAP Money Coach

CAP Money is run by a 1–3 facilitators, trained at a regional one-day CAP Money training session. What makes an ideal faciliatator? Someone who has a need is a heart for helping people and the desire to pioneer a fun new ministry.

Room to meet in & place to play video

While many people run their CAP Money course at a room in their local church, the small- group format and DVD-based content make it a perfect tool to be taught at small groups or local community centres.

Church Launch

By hosting a CAP Speaker for your CAP Money launch, your congregation will be inspired to attend and spread the word about your CAP Money course. A CAP Speaker will also share about the wider work of CAP and give people the opportunity to provide prayer and financial support.

2019 training dates

Each CAP Money training day includes food, fun and the resources your coach(es) need to run the course. It’s a great time getting to know other regional coaches in the area as well!
