Core Team

Aimee Mai

CEO

After working in both accountancy and human resources, Aimee joined CAP as a volunteer in 2008 and never looked back. She loves seeing churches equipped to live out their faith by serving the most vulnerable people in their communities. Aimee lives in South Auckland, with her husband Ben, who just happens to be the Network Partnerships Director.

Sam Garaway

Chief of Operations

After working in the recruitment industry for a number of years, Sam joined CAP in 2014. As he leads the day-to-day operations, Sam loves that CAP is providing a practical, powerful answer to those most in need in our nation. He and his wife Ari live in Auckland, though they escape for bush, hunting or water adventures whenever they can!

Ben Mai

Network Partnerships Director

Ben joined the CAP team in 2014 after working with Stats New Zealand. Today, he oversees partnerships with CAP's network of churches across NZ, and the development of new CAP ministries. He is most inspired by the stories he hears of lives transformed through the work of CAP and the love of Jesus. He lives with his wife Aimee in South Auckland.

Aaron Minnee

Finance Director

Aaron joined CAP in 2014 after a mix of non-profit and for-profit finance work. He brings both practical accountancy and high-level strategic thinking to his role, and loves that he can serve the organisation and ensure that churches are equipped to help their communities! Aaron, his wife Miriam, and 3 children live in West Auckland.

Michael Ward

Client Services Director

Michael joined CAP in 2015, bringing a wealth of experience from working in the Credit Industry, Collections and Property Management. As the Director of Client Services, Michael works to ensure every Debt Help client receives the very best help as they journey their way out of debt and into financial freedom. He and his wife Marien live in South Auckland, enjoying the adventure of raising their 5 growing boys.

Board of Trustees

Bruce Edmonds

Chairman of the Board

In 2007, Bruce was part of the team who invited CAP to New Zealand. With 33 years in the finance industry, he realised the need for holistic services provided through the church – services that helped people out of poverty, instead of keeping them trapped.

John Kirkby

Trustee

After working in the consumer finance industry for 17 years and suffering his own financial loss, John began Christians Against Poverty UK in 1996 with a few-pound donation and big faith. He has since helped build CAP in four countries.

Warren Fountain

Trustee

An avid entrepreneur and long-time Auckland businessman, Warren joined the CAP board in its early days. He brings years of experience in business development and has a passion for seeing people helped out of poverty and living a life filled with the hope of Jesus.

Sharon Bohane

Trustee

Sharon has a love for people and a desire to see them reach their full potential. After years of involvement with CAP in her own local church while managing the LIFE Centre Community Trust, she now manages the marketing for a retirement village in Central Auckland.

Nick Field

Trustee

Nick is the Senior Pastor of The Street City Church, a thriving church community in Wellington that has partnered with CAP since 2013. He is passionate about creating a community of disciple-makers that transforms people by the power of the gospel, and brings this unique pastoral perspective to the CAP board.
